Sturminster Newton
Spent the last day and a bit stripping down Sturminster Newton 1.0 for the bits that will be transferred to version 2.0 and getting the wood off that I can reuse in the future. The good news is progress on v2.O and shown in the photo below with the new board standing up behind the stripped-down old board. On the new board, I have kept the track closer to the front, which gives more space in the yard and has enabled me to fit in the 3 sidings at the back/top and the additional length, whilst not clear in this photo, is far more representative of the station than v 1.0. I found some images whilst doing this of V1.0 from 2014 and an earlier set from the first iteration, Sturminster Halt from 2013, showing it largely complete in 2013 so dating the build to 2011/12. Not a bad life for a model intended only for my study but definitely now the time for a rebuild on an exhibition-ready baseboard after at least 2 shows a year for the last 10 years.
