The Layouts
Sturminster Newton

N Gauge Layout of Sturminster Newton in Dorset and set towards the end of the line in the 1960s
Key Features
- Size 11 feet by 2 Feet
- DCC Control/JMRI Mimic Panel
- Single track mainline with a 6-road fiddle yard at the rear
- Currently exhibiting in the South West and rebuilt during 2025
Wealden Cement

N Gauge Modular layout based on a cement works in the late 60s to late 90’s
Key Features
- Size- 8 feet by 2 foot 6
- DCC Controlled
- Modular WSNG Standard, with a standalone loop and fiddleyard
- Exhibiting with the WSNG Club in the South East
Crawley Yard

N Gauge Modern Theme layout of Crawley Yard on the Main London to Brighton Line from 2010
Key Features
- Size 5 Meters by 610mm
- DCC Control /JMRI Mimic Panel
- 4 track mainline with yard and 8 road fiddleyard to the rear
- Currently in the build phase for V2.0 targeting 2026/7 for exhibitions
Shillingstone

00 Layout based on Shillingstone on the Somerset and Dorset line. Set between 1920 and 1940 a mixture of S&DJR, SR and LMS stock in use
Key Features
- Size 34 feet by 1.5 -2 Feet – 24 feet scenic boards
- End-to-end configuration with fiddle yards at each end
- DCC Control with sound-fitted locomotives and working signals
Poole Sidings

N Gauge home-based layout designed around the track plan for Poole in Dorset but aligned to fit in the room allocated to trains
Key Features
- 12&12 feet, L Shaped and around two sides of the railway room
- DCC Control with block detection, iTrain configuration underway for automation
- Track laid in line with 1965-1980 – End of Steam – BR Blue
Billingshurst

Project started and abandoned after the move to Dorset. Buildings and baseboards were passed to Phil to complete

- Size 8 by 2 Feet
- DCC Control
- Designed to fit into the HMRC N Gauge Modular scheme
